Ryan talks with Viktor Kalvachev, writer for the Image Comic “Blue Estate”, a deliciously lurid pulp comic with some of the best covers I’ve seen around in a while. Given the twisty nature of the plot, a team of artist take turns drawing different sections of the story. Viktor talks about some of the unique challenges working on a multi-artist book, including supplying maquettes of the main characters so that the artistic team has a similar frame of reference.

AMC and the producers of The Walking Dead are managing to keep fans updated on the series production almost daily. It’s pretty obvious why AMC is going all out on the official Walking Dead blog. It’s mainly publicity, and a dash of assauging the fear of some fans that an adaptation of the comic into TV format might water down the gruesome contents. On the latter, I think there’s little to fear now, as they’ve been pretty open that this isn’t going to be a PG show. Yesterday, the second trailer for Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World was released after Edgar Wright had decided to withhold its premiere until his Twitter campaign reaped a desired 100,000 ‘likes’ on Facebook.
