Star Wars Day TO: Tonight at the Toronto Underground Cinema

While the fourth has been around for a while now, today marks the second annual celebration of all things Star Wars, with Star Wars Day TO.  Once again, the festivities take place at the Toronto Underground Cinema, and kick off at 7pm.  Besides various screenings, there will be a costume contest, trivia (I’m guessing NOT about Game of Thrones, but that’s just a hunch), special guests and prizes.  All the proceeds for this year’s even will be going to the SickKids Foundation. Toronto After Dark Film Festival 2011 kicks off eight nights of horror

Tonight marks the start of the 6th annual Toronto After Dark Film Festival, which runs for 8 nights at the Toronto Underground Cinema, with the Canadian horror comedy “Monster Brawl”. Over the years TADFF has grown to become a breakout festival, featuring horror and science fiction films that one may normally not get a chance to see on the big screen.

Toronto Underground Cinema marks first anniversary with free screening

It was a year ago that the Toronto Underground Cinema first opened its doors to the public with free showings of Clue and Big Trouble in Little China. Since then, the 700 seat theatre has played host to a number of events, including Gamercamp Lv2, and most recently the inaugural Star Wars Day Toronto. To celebrate its first anniversary, the Toronto Underground Cinema is opening its doors for two free movies tonight.

Starting December 2nd, the Toronto Underground Cinema is running a four day showcase Canadian movies, under the title Good Canadian Cinema?
