Edgar Wright brings his ‘The Wright Stuff’ series back to Toronto, starting tomorrow

BREAKING NEWS – Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky and Rushmore (pending studio approval) added to the line-up

Last year Edgar Wright was filming his new magnum opus, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (based on the hugely popular comic set in Toronto) in and around the city. Luckily for Toronto film geeks he managed to take some time off from his busy schedule to put on two mini film festivals at the Bloor Cinema – The Wright Stuff & The Wright Stuff: Double Bill Pope. RGB Filter was on hand for both Wright Stuffs, and we interviewed both Edgar and Bill Pope.

Now that Edgar’s back in town, on the press tour for the Scott Pilgrim movie, he has decided to put on another festival, The Wright Stuff Strikes Back, this time at the Toronto Underground Cinema, from Friday-Sunday, August 6th-8th. The TUC is staffed by former employees of the Bloor, who were instrumental in putting on the first festival.

Unlike last year, Edgar is going to be in town for a lot less time, so the festival only runs for three days – I guess there won’t be time for a Spaced marathon this time! Also, like last year, his previous two films, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz will be shown, along with an eclectic selection of some of his favourites like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky (the later was shown at the first Wright Stuff, so he most love this film!) and Rushmore.

Expect Edgar to attend some, if not all, of the screenings, and you can also expect some surprise guests – probably from the cast of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World!

The Beguiling, Toronto’s best comic store, and epicentre of all things Scott Pilgrim, will also be on hand at the festival:

The Beguiling is super-pleased to be supporting this event! We’ll be working with Toronto Underground Cinema to give away awesome prize-packs at every screening, and The Beguiling will be set-up on site with all kinds of cool comics and merch!

The Toronto Underground Cinema is also running a scavenger hunt, posting clues on their Facebook and Twitter, to win A FREE ADMIT TWO PASS to the ENTIRE FESTIVAL. You can find out more info about the hunt here.

Complete festival information, schedule, and ticket prices after the break
