Gamercamp Lv2 starts tomorrow
Like the title says, there’s only one day left until Gamercamp Lv2 kicks off tomorrow morning at 11 am. The 2 day festival of gaming, in it’s second year, will feature gaming presentations, the Saturday night 1UP bash and a whole lot more. You can get your tickets right here. Instead of trying to sum it all up myself, here’s the official poster of events, followed by a write up from event organizers Mark Rabo and Jamie Woo.
Saturday doors open at 10:30am and presentations get started at 11am. We’ll be providing coffee and water and Toronto Underground Cinema will have lots of snacks (those will be extra). Also, cupcakes will make a surprise appearance sometime during the day with a whole new theme this year (based on one of our favorite games eva!) Day 1 ends at 5pm and you’ll have a few hours to grab some eats and get ready for the 1UP Bash!
Doors for the 1UP Bash open at 8:30pm and Starscream gets on stage at 9pm. If you don’t have tickets yet you can pick them up for $12 on Gamercamp.ca (if you have a Festival Pass already) or $15 if you don’t. All at-the-door tickets are $15.
On Sunday, doors open at 10:30am again but the venue is now the George Brown School of Design. We’ll help get you going with our PJ and Cereal Retro Breakfast. All your favorite cereals, snacks, plus video games – it’ll be like a little childhood time machine. And don’t forget your PJs (we’ll definitely have ours!). To keep waste down, we’re going BYOBS (Bring Your Own Bowl and Spoon) but if you don’t have one we can provide biodegradable ones for $0.25.
Gamercamp officially ends at 5pm on Sunday but the fun goes a little longer because at 7pm, in conjunction with Dorkshelf.com and Toronto Underground Cinema, we’re presenting a double screening of two movies that defined early video game culture: The Last Starfighter and The Wizard. We can’t think of a better way to wind down an amazing weekend games.
