The Walking Dead enters production

It’s no secret that The Walking Dead is one of our favourite ongoing comics here at rgb HQ, so when it was announced a TV series based on it was in the pipeline, we couldn’t be happier.  A TV series based on the book could be potentially awesome, if handled properly, and eveything seems to be lining up in that direction.  Although AMC’s list of original series is short, their track record is impeccable, what with Mad Men, and the best show currently on TV, Breaking Bad.  Breaking Bad in particular suggests that The Walking Dead won’t be watered down, as that show has pulled no punches.  Having Frank Darabont and Gale Anne Hurd on board doesn’t hurt either.

It was earlier announced that The Walking Dead will start this October, and that’s looking likely, as the series went into production yesterday.  To mark the production, AMC has updated the official Walking Dead blog, with a host of zombie make up shots, as well as a short behind the scenes video with director Darabont and producer Gale Anne Hurd.
