Episode 021 – Google n Games

We start off this show with a lot of Google news, from the Chrome OS announcement to Youtube’s policy regarding playback on TV. Ryan drops some news from Stephen King about a sequel to the The Shining, and we take a look at both Left 4 Dead 2 and Assassin’s Creed II.

    agree with ryan re: stickyness

    disagree with ryan re: graphics

i like open ended games, that is not why i didnt like prototype, i didnt like it because it was rushed and ended up being its own worst enemy

ryan if you could do something for me

go to a room that is being guarded, distract them with courtesans, then sneak behind them and give em the gank

lemme know the results (everytime i do this exact action the game freezes)

Oh man really? I still feel they phoned in the character models. Dull and lifeless.

That said, I might have a different opinion had I seen the 360 version.

The environment however? OUT-FREAKIN-STANDING. Don;t et me wrong, it’s a good looing game, to be sure, but the faces and character textures just left me feeling meh.

I’m sure it’s the character TEXTURES you mean, not the character MODELS.

The model assets would be identical between the two systems, whereas the textures are lower resolution on the PS3 (or possibly rendered at a lower resolution).
