Left 4 Dead 2 is out, and is all that and more

Valve unlocked Left for Dead 2 at midnight, on November 17th, for those who pre-ordered, and pre-loaded the game. I somehow forgot this fact, despite having done the former and latter, so the first thing I did when I got home tonight was play the game. Though I have only had time to play a for few hours, it’s defintely going to be my new gaming addiction.

As said, in our review of the demo, L4D 2 takes all that you loved from the first game (you did buy the first one, right?) and refines it to make it almost perfect. Some notable additions are (awesome) melee weapons, an improved AI director that can dynamically change the route through the map, and more complex objectives that need completing to move onto the next map.

I will post a full review once I have had more time to play it with other rgb’ers, but I can leave you with this for now – throwing a vial of boomer bile (which attracts the zombies), waiting for a nice mass of them to surround said bile, and then blasting them with a well placed grenade is extremely satisfying (and suitably extremely gory !).

Left 4 Dead 2 is out now for PC in stores/on Steam, and Xbox 360

We have to play Realism mode: death is death unless you have a defib, head shots and witches galore.
