Dead Rising 2 screens raise many questions…

Out of GamesCon running in Cologne Germany, comes some pretty, uhm, interesting screenshots for Capcom’s Dead Rising 2. As you can see from the above pic, there appears to be what every zombie game needs… giant angry teddy bear vs wheelchair dude multiplayer racing action. In fact, many of the screenshots (below) are equally bizarre, suggesting that the multiplayer modes in the game are certainly on the less serious side.  What’s with the Rock Band like screens?  Will there be a Zombie PunchOut mode?  How much duct tape is enough to strap an M60 to a teddy bear?

How this translates in the single player remains to be seen, but the original Dead Rising was a more lighthearted take on the zombie genre, as much Plants vs. Zombies as it was Left 4 Dead. There’s also some interesting insight to developement of Dead Rising 2 over at this recent Gamasutra Q & A piece, where they talk with Dead Rising 2 co-producer Shin Ohara about what to expect (and not) in the sequel.  One interesting takeaway is that Capcom is working with Vancouver independent game developer Blue Castle Games on DR2.

You can catch the GamesCon screenshots (thanks to Co-Optimus) after the break…
