2 million Dead Rising and counting

No, the zombie apocalypse isn’t on us yet.  Dead Rising 2, developed by Blue Castle Games for Capcom, has sold over 2 million copies since its release last month, which puts it on track to outsell its predecessor by a fair margin.  I’m ashamed to say that as a zombie fan I have yet to play the sequel, which gives players a chance to destroy the undead in a number of creative ways, including making their own weapon combos by duct taping such disparate items as chainsaws and paddles together….

Dead Rising 2 screens raise many questions…

Out of GamesCon running in Cologne Germany, comes some pretty, uhm, interesting screenshots for Capcom’s Dead Rising 2. As you can see from the above pic, there appears to be what every zombie game needs… giant angry teddy bear vs wheelchair dude multiplayer racing action. In fact, many of the screenshots (below) are equally bizarre, suggesting that the multiplayer modes in the game are certainly on the less serious side.  What’s with the Rock Band like screens?  Will there be a Zombie PunchOut mode?  How much duct tape is enough…

Dark Void demo launches this week

Whether you’ve heard of Dark Void before or not, if you have a PS3 or Xbox 360, this is your lucky week.  Those who know already have the date bookmarked.  If you’re not familiar with the title, Dark Void basically a 3rd person action adventure game, mixing that old-tymey art style of Bioshock with interdimensional sci-fi monsters.  Like most 3rd person shoots, it makes use of a Gears of War cover mechanism, adding a vertical cover mechanic into the mix.
