Punch Out for Wii – Little Mac hits the Streets of Toronto

On a cold Sunday night near Bloor and Bathurst in Toronto, Nintendo set up an outdoor projector and a wii showing off the new Punch Out! for Wii….I shot this a little late, so the crowd was small…

As for the quality of footage…well one thing for me to remember in the future with an HD capable camera is when you leave the memory card in your computer it records to the camera’s miniscule internal memory – at QVGA resolution only 🙁

  1. FINALLY, a Wii game worth OWNING!!!

…is that a sad commentary on Nintedo that the only games I’m excited about buying are rooted deep in nostalgia?

  2. Hey, don’t forget about the Blob.

    1. De Blob is prolly the only true exception to the rule 🙂

There’ve been lots of Wii games with huge promise, but really, in the end, all the games on my shelf have either “Excite” or “Mario” in the title 🙂

It’s such a good game. I’m just hoping that eventually I’ll figure out what all the characters are saying in their native languages. My Turkish is a little rusty. I was sort of hoping I’d be able to unlock the phrases as I went along, but it looks like I’m bugger out of luck there. Fightin’s like breathin’, beck.

And hasn’t Nintendo always been about rooting itself deep in nostalgia? You’re not just buying a console. You’re marrying into a family.
