Xbox-exclusive GTA IV expansion gives Silver members a little taste of the Gold life
Beginning Feb 17/09, Rockstar Games will be making available for download the new GTA IV expansion pack called “Lost and Damned”. The pack follows the story of Johnny Klebitz, a member of the Liberty City bike gang “The Lost” who’s fresh outta rehab and looking to cause a ruckus.

Lost & Damned is the first of 2 new stories announced for the franchise, the second being Chinatown Wars for the DS.
What makes this interesting is not just that this is an XBOX-exclusive release, but that the 1600-point ($20 USD) download will coincide with a GTA promotion that gives XBOX LIVE Silver members a full 6 days of Gold-level access, making the steep-ish pricetag for the game download all the more worth it:
For the first time ever, starting Tuesday, February 17 at 9:00 am (PST), Xbox LIVE multiplayer service usually reserved for Xbox LIVE Gold members will be completely free of charge for LIVE members while playing Grand Theft Auto IV or The Lost and Damned—the first exclusive downloadable expansion episode on Xbox 360. This limited, Grand Theft Auto multiplayer promotion is applicable only to players of either Grand Theft Auto IV or The Lost and Damned expansion episode, and will end on Sunday, February 22 (11:59PM PST). As anyone who has ever played Xbox Live will likely tell you, the $60/year subscription is more than worth it, so this might be just the incentive the undecided need to take the plunge.
Oh, and yes, you will need the GTA IV game disk for Lost & Damned to work, but you can play the add-on regardless of whether or not you’ve finished Nico’s story.
You can start calling in sick to work on Tuesday February 17.

I’m debating whether I should get this. Still want to get the Fallout 3 content as well, but I’m not buying anything else until I finish the games I have (of course, L4D has made that outlook pretty bleak). 🙂
