Dark Void demo launches this week
Whether you’ve heard of Dark Void before or not, if you have a PS3 or Xbox 360, this is your lucky week. Those who know already have the date bookmarked. If you’re not familiar with the title, Dark Void basically a 3rd person action adventure game, mixing that old-tymey art style of Bioshock with interdimensional sci-fi monsters. Like most 3rd person shoots, it makes use of a Gears of War cover mechanism, adding a vertical cover mechanic into the mix.
Why vertical cover? Oh, probably because your character has a jet pack, and can get into aerial dog-fights. If that doesn’t make it at least a curiosity worth the download, I don’t know what is. Alright… I’m a sucker for jet packs, and I LIKED The Rocketeer movie (though it didn’t quite do justice to the comics), but I don’t care.
The Dark Void demo is due to be released on both services – Jan 6th for the 360 and Jan 7th for the PS3. This’ll give you a good couple of weeks to try it out before the full game launches on Jan 19th (also for Windows).
