Rogers says that the Revolution is here – at least until June 19th

In a press release dated May 7th, Rogers asked cellphone users to “Join the Mobile Revolution on June 2”. Right up until a few days before, when pricing details ($149 on a 3-year term) leaked out, the only thing many users knew about this “revolution” was that Rogers was going to be selling the HTC Dream (a.k.a. “old” Google G1) and HTC Magic (a.k.a. “new” Google G2) Android OS smartphones. While being one of a select few carriers worldwide (along with T-mobile and Vodaphone) to sell Android handsets was a…

What went wrong with Terminator Salvation?

After seeing the movie with Doug and Dave, I couldn’t help thinking about what might have been. The movie, in my humble opinion, was not as bad as the reviews had suggested, but it certainly could have been better. In the months prior to the film’s release there were rumours leaked online about a controversial earlier draft of the script — existing prior to Christian Bale’s involvement with the film — which sounded far superior to the one that ended up on the big screen, and now chud.com has the…

Punch Out for Wii – Little Mac hits the Streets of Toronto

On a cold Sunday night near Bloor and Bathurst in Toronto, Nintendo set up an outdoor projector and a wii showing off the new Punch Out! for Wii….I shot this a little late, so the crowd was small… As for the quality of footage…well one thing for me to remember in the future with an HD capable camera is when you leave the memory card in your computer it records to the camera’s miniscule internal memory – at QVGA resolution only 🙁

The fourth Toronto Comic Arts Festival returns this year, to a new location, the Toronto Reference Library, on 789 Yonge St, Toronto. Adventures in Windows 7

Microsoft opened the Beta of Windows 7 up to the public over the weekend. It can be downloaded here. Windows 7 has been misconstrued as a response to Vista’s bad press, even though it has been in development since well before Vista even shipped. However, I am sure the all hype surrounding this very early public preview (it might not even ship in its final form until 2010) is a response. Vista has generated a lot of ill will towards the Redmond giant (most of it unfounded), and Windows 7…
