Last night Valve released the third part of their “The Sacrifice” online comic that details the events in between Left for Dead 1 and 2, the ‘Passing’ DLC, and the “The Sacrifice” DLC (for both the first AND second games) coming on October 5th. The comic itself also fills in a lot of the backstory of the characters of Left for Dead 1, and is currently available online here. The Sacrifice DLC coming Oct 5th – comic online

Valve has announced that “The Sacrifice” DLC for both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 will be released on October 5th, 2010.  The new DLC further bridges the gap between the two games, and tells the story leading up to the demise of **** (name redacted for spoilers sake).  During the lead up to the release of the DLC, Valve has also started putting “The Sacrifice” comic online, with the first 2 of 4 parts now available. Left 4 Dead’s Sacrifice not written in stone

When Valve released “The Passing” DLC for Left 4 Dead 2, it was the first time that we got to see the cast of the original L4D in the new game.  We also saw the ultimate fate of one of the original characters, but I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t seen it yet.
