Daniel Clowes Presents WILSON: Official TCAF Kick-Off Event


Tomorrow night TCAF 2010 kicks off with Daniel Clowes presents WILSON at a FREE, but ticketed, event at the Toronto Reference Library. Seating is limited, and the first round of tickets released are already SOLD OUT, but there is another block being released tomorrow morning – you’ll have to act fast to get one!

Presented by Toronto Public Library, Toronto Comic Arts Festival, and Drawn & Quarterly,

Daniel Clowes will kick off the 2010 Toronto Comic Arts Festival in style with the presentation of his new graphic novel WILSON, published by premiere Canadian publisher Drawn & Quarterly.WILSON is hotly anticipated by graphic novel fans worldwide and Clowes’ appearance at TCAF will make this one of the most eagerly anticipated comics events of the year.

A final block of tickets will be released on Friday, May 7th at 11am. Half of the tickets will be distributed online, and the other half will be distributed from The Beguiling in Toronto. As a reminder, tickets are free, but are limited to two tickets per person. Please note that tickets will be extremely limited at both locations.

To get tickets:

1. Visit at 11am EST on Friday, May 7th. Tickets will be released on a first-come, first-served basis. As a reminder the event is limited to 2 tickets per person, and any registrant attempting to reserve more than 2 tickets will have all of their bids cancelled outright.


2. Visit Toronto Comic Arts Festival sponsor THE BEGUILING, in person at 601 Markham Street, Toronto, at 11am EST on Friday, May 7th. Tickets will be released on a first-come, first-served basis. Please do not attempt to phone or email the store to reserve or inquire about tickets.

Copies of WILSON as well as much of Clowes’ back-catalogue will be available for purchase on site. A signing by Clowes will follow the event. For more information please visit

Event begins at 7pm. Doors open at 6:30pm. No admission after 7:30pm.

Strict limit of 2 tickets per registrant enforced. Photo ID will be required to pick up tickets at the door.
