Alice sequel teased, twisted
American McGee’s Alice, the nicely twisted third person game that put an extra dose of creepiness into the Alice In Wonderland world back in 2000, finally had a sequel announced by EA back in February of 2009. Now the first teaser trailer, courtesy of developers Spicy Horse has been put online at the teaser Return Of Alice site (the main URL is showing black at the moment).
Given the capabilities of hardware these days, I’m hoping that the game itself will have the same creepy stop motion style as the teaser. Of course, technically speaking, stop motion should be easier to render because it doesn’t require motion blur, and rendering faster than 24 fps would kind of defeat the purpose.
This time around, it’s being aimed at the PC, as well as Xbox 360 and PS3.
UPDATE: According to Amercian McGee, this trailer is “…unofficial, and does not represent any of the final art direction or story elements in Alice 2…” Oh well.
