Dragon Age: Origins Character Creator Available Now

2009-10-14-character

Are you planning on playing Dragon Age: Origins on the PC (as opposed to the Xbox 360 or PS3)?  If so, and you can’t wait to start making your (first) character, then look no further (or at least a little further).  As the headline says, you can now download the Character Creator, and be ready to jump into the action when the game is released on Nov 3.

In fact, I’d recommend it.  Just like other recent Bioware titles like Mass Effect, you can suddenly find you’ve spent a good couple of hours endlessly tweaking your character.  Considering the additional class and race options, you’re looking at an even bigger time suck.  Trust me, I’ve been there.  Three weeks is a lot of lead time to make your character your own.

to be honest I thought the character creator, while comparable to many other rpg’s, and well done was seriously lacking in the options department. Not enough options and no body type editing threw me off….could possibly be an engine limitation

Would have been nice to see some body type editing. I find that I get caught up in just designing faces though, which can eat up a lot of time, just as it did in Mass Effect.
