Sony Ericsson announces Xperia X8, pushes up X10 2.1 update, and win an X10 from Rogers for Father’s Day

Today Sony Ericsson confirmed the existence of the recently leaked ‘Shakira’ mid-sized Android smartphone, when they officially introduced the Xperia X8. While Rogers has not confirmed, or even hinted, that they will carry this phone, it makes sense that they will, since they currently carry the Xperia X10, and will soon have the X10 Mini. Mysterious Telus HTC Triumph revealed to be nothing more than a Desire

Almost 3 weeks ago, MobileSyrup.com posted a Telus internal inventory screenshot, listing a ‘HTC Triumph White Handset’. A few days later, the MobileNinjas posted that it had a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, and that it ‘resembles the HTC Incredible’. Motorola finally releases the Telus Milestone Android 2.1 update

While there has been no official anouncement from either Motorola or Telus, a post on the Alldroid.org forums tonight said that the Android 2.1 update was finally released yesterday. At the moment it seems the update must be done with the Motorola software updater tool, found here – there have been no reports of an OTA update yet.
