Top Gear, the new season starts, finally!
If you have any interest in great TV then you should be watching Top Gear, the British BBC produced weekly car show and yes even if you are not into cars.
Three hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond drive fast cars, interview then make celebrities drive slow cars, perform crazy stunts, go to exotic locales perfoming crazy stunts (racing a sled dog team against a 4×4 in the Artic), all with a sense of humor and chemistry that is unmatched in any presenter line up on TV. The joy of the show is not the cars, but the personality of the hosts, the crazy stuff they get up to (like making amphibious cars and trying to cross the English Channel) and how they make it all so entertaining.This past Sunday season 11 started, and for those not in the UK visiting our site (which I suspect is a lot of you) you can see the episode in 6 parts on YouTube…hurry before it’s taken down! Of course for those in the know there are other sources for the show
NBC is also set to lauch a US version of the show, and initial many fans feared a neutered version of the show, but recent comments from one of the hosts, Adam Carolla, have soothed my fears at least that they might actually do a decent job…here’s hoping

The thing is I’m not even into cars at ALL, and Top Gear (UK) is a great show. I’m suspecting the American version will be alright, but I doubt it’ll have the mass appeal.
Jeremy Clarkson is a hero. HIs video of him pushing the Bugatti Veyron to top speed os one of the coolest things ever.
I doubt any US host, especially a guy named after a mid-size safety sedan, can recreate Clarkson’s magiks 🙂
