Bumptop bought by Google

Toronto based BumpTop, makers of the 3D desktop interface of the same name, has been acquired by Google.  We’ve talked about Bumptop in the past, as it made for an interesting UI for touch screen computers.  Earlier this year BumpTop appeared on HP’s tm2 convertible laptop, as well as releasing a verison for Mac OS X.

The front page of BumpTop has a letter to it’s fans, and for the next few days the free versions for will be available for download.  For paid users, there is an End of Life program, which you can access by entering your credentials.  With Google working on Chrome OS, can we expect some of the BumpTop code to make an appearence there, or even in their Android OS?
