Acer Aspire Easystore H340 Review

Overview: I’m sure we’ve all been faced with the dilemma of running out of hard drive space, and wondering whether it would make more sense to upgrade an internal drive, or plunk down the money for an external solution.  When contemplating getting yet another hard drive to add to my system (as dictated by the paltry 24 GB I had left free on my last drive), I realized it was time to look into some sort of network addressed storage (NAS) instead of dogpiling another drive in the computer, or…

An rgbFilter Review: Playstation 3’s Wireless Keypad

It’s no secret that communicating via text chat during online play is an integral part of gaming, and that the hunt & peck method of text inputting is a massive pain in the ass. You COULD use a USB keyboard, but playing online with a full-sized QWERTY on your lap the whole time is impractical, at best. Microsoft recognized the need for a text input device back in May ’07 and gave us the 360 Chatpad, effectively solving all our online chatting needs. Never one to admit its been outdone,…

Acer Aspire One Netbook Review

There’s been times I thought about getting a notebook, but decided against it for a couple of reasons. What Skyfire promises (and delivers on) is a browser with Flash support built in, for both video and Flash animations. This is a quick speed test comparing Skyfire with the excellent Opera Mobile 9.5, with some sample in-browser Flash playback, using an HTC Touch 400MHz phone. Rendering speeds between…

Another rgbFilter Review: Knight Rider

Wednesday nights, 8:00 PM Eastern, NBC (Global) (official site) If you’re of a similar age to mine, then you remember being transfixed in the living room on any given weeknight watching what would become some of the most iconic characters of your adult life being introduced to the world for the first time. There was B.A. Barracus of the A-Team, Remington Steele, MacGyver, and of course, my personal favourite, KITT from Knight Rider.

The “Podcaster” lesson: Users want more than Apple’s Walled Garden allows

As we’ve discussed before…and before…and before, Apple’s practice of blacklisting applications from its App Store is something of a controversial move on the part of the Cupertino-based technology company that once described its products as “the computer for the rest of us”, and told us that their company will be “nothing like 1984”.
