SteelSeries to help WOW addicts grind with ‘Superior Ergonomics’

With Cataclysm, the latest expansion for World of Warcraft, coming to destroy many peoples lives all over again on December 7th, SteelSeries has decided that if you are going to be grinding for 72 hours straight, at least you can do it with the best MMO mouse you can buy.

The SteelSeries World of Warcraft® Cataclysm MMO Gaming Mouse (now that’s a mouthful!) is the second WOW mouse that they have produced, and improves on the ergonomics and button layout of that mouse, yet still keeps the trick glowing suit of armour styling and finish. Consequently this mouse is definitely one of those ‘it’s a matter of taste’ products that will certainly appeal to die-hard WOW addicts, but maybe not to anyone else. Luckily for SteelSeries there are 12 million plus of those addicts world-wide.

The WOW Cataclysm MMO Gaming Mouse has 14 customizable buttons, adjustable illumination colour with four levels of intensity and pulsation, custom macro support, and the ability to save ten custom profiles that are linked to your actual in-game WOW characters. SteelSeries will be showing the new mouse at BlizzCon this week, and the mouse will be available on the same day as the Cataclysm launch for $99.99 USD.

STEELSERIES ANNOUNCES NEW MMO GAMING MOUSE DESIGNED FOR BLIZZARD ENTERTAINMENT’S WORLD OF WARCRAFT®

SteelSeries’ World of Warcraft®: Cataclysm™ MMO Gaming Mouse Offers Players Enhanced Functionality and Superior Ergonomics

CHICAGO, Oct. 14, 2010 – Today, SteelSeries, the leading manufacturer of professional gaming peripherals and creator of the original World of Warcraft® MMO Gaming Mouse, announces a new MMO gaming mouse co-developed with Blizzard Entertainment. With a unique exterior that evokes the armored plating of Deathwing the Destroyer, the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm™ MMO Gaming Mouse delivers superior ergonomics and an intuitive button layout with advanced software functionality.

The new Cataclysm mouse is the result of that collaboration: it provides a wide range of customization options and delivers a more comfortable, intuitive, and ultimately better experience.”

The drag and drop software empowers players to:

  • Program all 14 buttons with more than 130 preset game commands
  • Create custom macros and/or use the in-game macro scripting language

The SteelSeries World of Warcraft: Cataclysm MMO Gaming Mouse features best in class technical specifications including:
