Swiss satellite to clean our cosmic front lawn

Life imitates art, right? That doesn’t have to mean it’s good art to result in a good cause. In that vein, the Swiss Space Center yesterday announced that they’ll be launching the CleanSpace One project, with its first goal to build and deploy a “janitor satellite” named CleanSpace One, with the singular task of tracking down the detrius we’ve left stranded in our solar front yard. The space junk will then be carried back towards Earth, with the goal of burning up during re-entry.

Toshiba 3D laptop hands on

If there’s one thing that’s almost inescapable in consumer electronics these days, it’s 3D in just about everything.  We had a chance to give Toshiba’s new Satellite A660-042 3D laptop a run for it’s money at the Toshiba-sponsored Primer Party, as part of NXNEi, ahead of it’s public release.  It’s the first major release of a 3D laptop in Canada, though others using the Nvidia 3D Vision technology are available at many independent and smaller chains. Bell bringing 3D Masters to Canada

Bell announced today that it will broadcast a 3D HD version of the Masters golf tournament, at least in a limited time frame.  This marks the first 3D HD broadcast in Canada since January’s Consumer Electronics Show rode the Avatar wave to make 3D an important check box in the tech specs. Bell will be showing 2 hours of the tournament in 3D, between 5pm and 7pm Eastern, on channel 1000.  To watch it, you have to be a Bell HD subscriber with the right package, and don’t bother looking…
