Palm ditches ad agency Modernista

Palm has decided they’ve had their fill of ads that either miss the mark with the female demographic, or just plain give a lot of people the willies.   Though I was personally a fan of the initial dreamlike, David Lynch-esque ads with Canadian actress Tamara Hope, most people found them creepy.  This is what Modernista co-founder and executive creative director Gary Koepke, who created the ads, had to say when they launched… “We weren’t trying to creep people out, but one thing I have learned now in this digital…

Apple’s Anti-Windows 7 Commercial Up The Irony Factor

The day after Windows 7 launches, Apple has fired off the latest salvo of spots starring John Hodgman and Justin Long.  Although one could argue that they wore out their welcome a long time ago, these just plain old stink.  The focus this time round is “hey everyone’s switching to the Mac”, even though according to their own numbers, this is far from true, but then again, the PC/Mac spots were never known for their accuracy.  Then again, very little advertising IS accurate (it’s rare, but it happens). New Bell ads channel Daft Hands, Apple Eater Bites

Along with the launch of Bell’s new advertising campaign, which seems like a mash up of Telus ads and a Daft Punk song, was the launch of their Apple iphone competitor, the Samsung Instinct. Boldly proclaiming it an ‘Apple eater’, and a slew of other adjectives (stunner, sexier, cooler, sleeker, everything-er), Bell is hoping this phone (judging by the amount of billboards and ads plaster around Toronto) will be the handset that turns around their flagging cellular arm. Early reports however from the popular cell-phone geek website HowardForums, and a…
