Some of our favorite trailers so far from E3

Fallout 3. The trailer speaks for itself. The sequel to one of the greatest RPG’s of all time. Will be available for 360, PS3 and PC. Alex says that the PC version will naturally be the best one.

Prince of Persia, one of Doug’s favorite games comes to next generation consoles and PC – and it’s Canadian made!

Mirror’s Edge, the ‘first person Assassin’s Creed’. Could one of the coolest games ever. Or it couldn turn into a complete mess.

Dead Space. Finally another game that might rival the scares that System Shock 2 gave Alex 9 years ago. System Shock 2 was created by Irrational Games, Bioshock being created by them as it’s spiritual sucessor (since they did not have the rights to the System Shock name). Dead Space is being created by EA, the publisher of SS2 (who still holds the frachise’s rights), and it has very similar feel to it and Bioshock, but with a lot more gore. Interesting.

  1. Of course you would say the PC version would be the best, because you’re a PC snob. That’s why while you’re enjoying your high end graphics, Ryan and I will be driving around in Liberty City causing general mayhem.

The poll speaks for itself. Get that 360 already. 🙂

  2. I gotta admit…playing an FPS/TPS with a keyboard & mouse p\!/ns. Even GTA would be easier to control with a KBM system. But from a fun factor, which is cooler:

Scenario a) “Dude last night was awesome! The way we pwned those n00bs from Argentina! And when you headshotted that dude from the catwalk was amazing!! I also enjoyed generally chatting with you and interacting with others from around the globe.”

    or

Scenario B) “Dude last night was AMAZING. I sat at my computer by myself and didn’t interact with anyone. I could have but going online with my PC is so lame I just didn’t bother. Plus my machine is so much more powerful cuz it’s so up to date that playing with anyone else just means all they see is me jumping and blipping in and out all over the place. But I totally destroyed some imaginary creatures.”

umm that response is so technically ill-informed it is ridiculous.

Other than the fact that you can sit on the couch with your live headset on and chat while you play is easier with Live (in that it is intergrated into all 360 online games, and yes the xbox friends list is cool) you can do that same thing with ALL pc online games…just by running a 3rd party voice chat in the background (ventrillo, which also has buddy lits etc). Yes Live is easier to use, but most Xbox 360 online games suffer from issues such as lack of dedicated server support for a lot of games which reduces the ammount of players that can be in one match, downloadable user content and maps, no MMO’s as of yet…

and how fast your PC is compared to someonelses machine really has VERT LITTLE BEARING on how they perform online…’jumping around and blipping in and out’ never happens in dedicated server based games like FPS’s…ACKKK online game performance is determined by your network connection and ping, not by how fast your PC is….thst just controls how good the graphics looks for each indivdual player on their own screen. All the calculations of who is where and who shot who is performed on the server side !
