As we briefly touched on in our initial Fan Expo write up, the convention was overcrowded this year, with attendance up by about 10,000 people. It didn’t help that Expo was moved from the larger south building of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, to the north, which has approximately 20% LESS square footage. Back in July, a handheld cam version of The Walking Dead TV series trailer, aired at San Diego Comic Con, made its way online. While better than many handhelds, it doesn’t matter now, as AMC has put out the full trailer, above. Well worth the watch!

The makers of The Walking Dead TV series, on AMC, screened the first official trailer at the San Diego Comic Con this year, and at least one person in attendance managed to record it and put it up on YouTube. Though it’s a cam, the trailer holds up and it looks like they’re getting everything right. Also AMC posted some great pictures today from Comic-Con, where the show and cast made a big splash. It’s pretty obvious why AMC is going all out on the official Walking Dead blog. It’s mainly publicity, and a dash of assauging the fear of some fans that an adaptation of the comic into TV format might water down the gruesome contents. On the latter, I think there’s little to fear now, as they’ve been pretty open that this isn’t going to be a PG show. Built on their first release, the Zombie Outbreak Simulator, Binary Space has release their first game, the Zombie RTS Class 3 Outbreak. The game is a browser based flash game, running over Google maps, where you control 3 squads of police to try to hold back a zombie invasion. AMC greenlights ‘The Walking Dead’ TV series

Following on from the news in January that AMC had ordered the pilot for a TV series of the best genre comic ever, ‘The Walking Dead’, comes the annoncement that a six episode series has been greenlit by AMC. The project has been on a fast track after AMC won a bidding war last August for the rights to the comic. AMC must have a lot of confidence in Frank Darabont’s vision for the series after greenlighting a whole season while the pilot is still being cast. Hopefully this vision…
